The ITS 6520

The ITS 6520 providing clear, uncompressed video for image/data analysis

The ITS 6520 is a video insertion and recording tool that can deliver what you need with one small footprint device to fly. The 6520 is rugged, meets flight safety requirements, and fits in an 8”x 11” x 3.5” (20 x 27.9 x 8.9 cm) space and is less than 6 pounds (2.7kg). It only needs a connection to an SDI video source (coax) and aircraft power (18-36 VDC).

The recorder has a built-in 12-channel GPS receiver that the 6520 uses to accurately report date, time, latitude and longitude on each video frame. Lat/Long and altitude is reported to accuracy of 5 meters of your vehicle location. This information can be placed anywhere on the video frame in one of 8 colours.

The 6520 also offers other data that may be collected and overlaid on the video frame or embedded in the VANC metadata space of the video for later use and extraction.

While inserting this information, the 6520 can record uncompressed imagery continuously to a removable SSD. Recording lengths vary by video format but can be 90 minutes using a commonly available 1080i/60 SDI video source.

Storage space can be allocated very efficiently employing the 6520’s event record function. This function can capture up to a 90 second 1080i/60 clip where the clip surrounds the event trigger. The event trigger is a discrete or command signal. The amount of pre-event video is programmable from 1 frame to the entire loop less one frame (one frame post event). The recorder will automatically complete capturing the pre-event and post-event video and save the clip to SSD.
